Twitter Experiment #BUAD336

For months, I've been making fun of people who use twitter.  And then, of course, for my Human Resource class, we did a twitter experiment which required the entire class to tweet for 48 hours.  When I saw the requirement, I groaned and complained to all my friends.  Then it came time to start tweeting.  I have to admit, it was actually kind of fun.  I'll never say that out loud, but for some odd reason, I find it easier to be honest about such things online than I do in real life.  Online, we can be whoever we want to be.  It's a lot less intimidating to talk to other people. The coolest part about the twitter experiment was that for 48 hours, I actually felt connected to other members of my class.  I got to know that several were Packer fans, like me, and that others enjoyed fantasy football, which I don't. I felt accepted when others would reply to my tweets, or notice that I had replied to theirs.  It was really fun to see what my professor was doing, and funny to imagine that he was tweeting along with the rest of us.  I still find the idea of twitter to be hilarious, especially since people actually use it.  However, for something like this, where a class of students who don't necessarily know each other can communicate without being afraid of looking stupid, I think twitter might actually be a good thing. #BUAD336
